Fork Ferns Psilotum
spp.
-
The Fork Ferns are small wispy plants that usually grow
as epiphytes in the Daintree.
-
They have very long and thin light green stems
that 'fork' repeatedly, thus the common name. Along these they develop yellow
sporangia that contain the spores.
-
They can be seen in the mangroves along Marrdja boardwalk and on Lake Barrine.
